Evan Jones is the former Director of Communications in the Stamford, Connecticut headquarters of the Keep America Beautiful national organization. After several years working locally as an independent consultant specializing in social enterprise development, curriculum and training innovation, and organizational issues management (www.learn-thrive.com), Jones now works as an Educational Advocate for youth locally who are experiencing foster care as the Tri-Cities area Advocate for the Washington non-profit Treehouse (www.treehouseforkids.org) He originally moved to the Tri-Cities area with his wife Margaret Mitchell-Jones when she began working as a Communications Advisor at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in Richland in 2019.
Jones has also previously worked in learning and community development at all levels around the nation including tenures as a classroom teacher, school Headmaster and middle school principal in independent schools, for a county government as coordinator of Neighborhood Services and as a corporate issues management leader in the forest products industry.
An aviation and travel enthusiast, he has also worked part-time on evenings and weekends for many years at the grassroots of the airline industry. He worked for United Airlines and Jet Blue Airways back East, and more recently worked here in the area at the Alaska Airlines ticket counter and around the planes at Tri-Cities Airport where he was a part-time customer service agent from 2019-2022.
Evan currently lives in the Horn Rapids area of Richland.
We are now bringing together a diverse group of leaders and citizens from across the Tri-Cities to guide the Tri-Cities Beautiful non profit organization and to hold us accountable to our mission and vision for the community.
